Soil Sampling

Are you sampling enough soil? We help construction teams get it right first time with a robust, WM3-aligned sampling approach. We start with site history, define the waste “population”, split it into sensible sub-areas (natural vs made ground, stockpiles, hotspots), and set a practical, documented sampling plan. Our team then takes representative surface and depth samples, maintains chain of custody, and targets laboratory testing to the contaminants that matter. You receive clear results and defensible waste classifications that support pre-acceptance, reduce retesting, and protect your project from delay and compliance risk.

Soil Testing & WAC

Get the right soil testing first time with UK Remediation Ltd, so you can classify waste correctly, price it accurately and avoid costly delays. WM3 “solids” testing shows what’s actually in the soil and is the essential starting point for waste classification and acceptance into treatment facilities, while WAC testing only shows what can leach out and together with WM3 test, is usually only required for landfill disposal - it cannot be used to classify waste. Our waste solutions team will guide you to the most appropriate, site-specific test suite (metals, TPH/BTEX, PAHs, POPs, pH and asbestos screening with quantification where needed), helping you prevent over-testing, rejected loads and compliance risk. Clear results, practical advice and the fastest route to treatment or disposal.

WM3 Waste Classification

UK Remediation Ltd helps you stay compliant and in control of soil and construction waste, with WM3 waste classification led by our in-house technical chemists and chartered waste specialists. With the Environment Agency increasingly clamping down, misclassification - or the common ‘WAC-only’ mistake (WAC shows what leaches out, not what’s in the soil) - can trigger delays, fines and inflated disposal costs. We produce a concise Waste Classification Report that gives you an exact breakdown of materials, their accurate classification and contamination if present, and the most practical, cost-effective solutions, from on-site segregation and recovery through to treatment or compliant disposal. Our in-house chemistry expertise is second to none, so every decision is robust, defensible and fully auditable.

Soil Removal & Disposal

We provide sustainable, landfill tax-free options for both hazardous and non-hazardous soils and wastes through our own Soil Treatment Facilities (STFs) across the South and South West, backed by a trusted nationwide network to secure the cheapest compliant route wherever your site is located. Choose a full haulage-and-disposal service or disposal-only to suit your programme and logistics. Our licensed hazardous waste capability allows us to treat a wide range of contaminants including hydrocarbons (petroleum, kerosene, diesel and mineral oils), heavy metals, chlorinated solvents, PAHs (including gasworks materials) and asbestos-impacted soils. Wherever possible, treated materials are recycled or used for restoration - not sent to landfill.

Logistics & Tracking

Keep every load compliant, traceable and audit-ready with UK Remediation’s logistics and digital tracking service. We manage the full movement of your soils and construction arisings, tracking every load from site to treatment or disposal so nothing gets lost in the paperwork - or flagged in an inspection. Our team provides the right Duty of Care documentation and hazardous consignment notes, checking that all details are correct, waste codes match the classification, and the full chain of custody is clear. Simple, compliant logistics that protects your programme, your reputation and your bottom line.

Asbestos

We help you identify, quantify and manage asbestos-impacted soils and CDM materials safely and compliantly, with the right sampling strategy and lab testing to support robust decision-making. We’ll guide you through classification, handling and remediation options, including on-site management where appropriate, or removal to permitted facilities when risk is unacceptable. Even when off-site removal is needed, treatment can often avoid standard rate landfill tax and maximise recovery of bulk material. The result is a clear, practical route forward: reduced delays, controlled risk, and compliant outcomes without the drama.

Streetworks

UK Remediation Ltd provides a complete Street Works UK (SWUK) managed service to help you classify, test and route excavation arisings compliantly - reducing site delays and keeping you in control. We support Desktop and Site Risk Assessments (DRA/SRA), ensuring materials are correctly segregated and assessed by layer (e.g., bituminous vs sub-base) to determine Green or Red waste streams. We handle the practicalities too: sampling logistics, chain of custody, reporting and safe on-site stockpiling or quarantine options while results are pending - including rapid routing to treatment facilities where appropriate.
