Asbestos Remediation

When asbestos is identified on a live construction site, delays and compliance risks quickly escalate. UK Remediation provides specialist asbestos soil remediation led by Cat B trained site managers and operatives, with access to a licensed facility to treat asbestos-contaminated soils. For onsite works, we deploy a mobile picking station and implement robust clean/dirty zones to prevent cross-contamination. We maintain strict segregation of contaminated and clean materials throughout excavation, stockpiling and muckaway, backed by full digital waste tracking across haulage and disposal. Our service includes asbestos identification and quantification testing to confirm presence and type, plus verification reporting with laboratory results to demonstrate successful removal and support regulatory sign-off.

Soil Stabilisation

Every site is different, so our soil stabilisation service is tailored to your programme, ground conditions and performance targets. We deliver the right solution using: 1) Chemically & physically assisted drying to improve handling and reduce muckaway through moisture reduction and optimised logistics 2) Geotechnical stabilisation & compaction to achieve full earthworks compliance by improving strength, stiffness and bearing capacity 3) Geo-environmental stabilisation - a targeted chemical remediation approach that treats the Pathway within the Source-Pathway-Receptor model. With an in-house laboratory to run trials and validate performance up front, we identify the most value-engineered, site-specific methodology before work starts. Get in touch and we’ll plan a stabilisation strategy tailored to your project.

Bulk Earthworks & Site Enabling

UK Remediation supports Tier 1 contractors and principal contractors with bulk earthworks that integrate seamlessly with remediation requirements. We prepare sites for groundworks and development platforms, install clean cover systems, and work fully in line with the remediation strategy and earthworks specification. This includes geotechnical classification testing and in-situ testing to verify compaction and ground strength, helping you meet design intent and avoid rework. We segregate soils by geo-environmental properties to maximise safe re-use, reduce disposal volumes and protect your programme. By combining remediation and bulk earthworks into a turnkey solution, we can deliver phased handovers aligned to construction milestones, manage disposal of unsuitable or surplus materials, and provide end-of-works verification reports for submission to the local planning authority.

Site investigation

A robust site investigation is the foundation of a compliant remediation strategy and a predictable construction programme. UK Remediation develops targeted investigation plans to focus on potential contaminant sources and high-risk areas of the proposed development, then delivers intrusive investigations in line with BS 5930 and BS 10175. We provide descriptive logging, collect samples for geochemical and geotechnical analysis at UKAS-accredited laboratories, and carry out groundwater, ground gas and vapour monitoring from dedicated installations. Our team analyses and interprets results, completes site surveying and cut/fill volumetric drawings, and produces factual and interpretative reports alongside generic and detailed environmental risk assessments in accordance with the LCRM framework. Using these findings, we determine the most suitable remediation option considering cost and sustainability, and produce remediation strategies ready for submission to the local planning authority.

In situ soil sampling and analysis

UK Remediation provides a complete in-situ soil sampling and analysis service to help contractors make fast, compliant decisions on excavation, re-use and disposal. We start by reviewing existing site investigation reports and background information to understand ground conditions and potential contaminants. We then confirm whether sampling will be taken from in-ground materials or stockpiles, ensuring the correct permitting route is followed where additional controls are required. Sampling quantities are set in line with WM3 guidance and the waste type, with testing tailored to your project requirements. This can include metals, hydrocarbons/TPH, PAHs, asbestos and coal tar suites and WAC analysis if needed. Our team attends site to collect representative samples at the required depths using clean, dedicated equipment and proven sampling methods to prevent cross-contamination. Samples are securely containerised, clearly labelled, and transported in temperature-controlled cool boxes to UKAS-accredited laboratories, with full Chain of Custody documentation maintained throughout. Once results are received, we assess them against your site-specific criteria and remediation targets, then produce a clear classification report that supports compliant material movements and keeps your programme on track.

Compliance monitoring and reporting

UK Remediation helps contractors maintain regulatory compliance throughout remediation and earthworks - protecting programmes, budgets and reputations. We provide pre-treatment baseline assessments and deliver long-term environmental monitoring where required, including landfill monitoring, groundwater monitoring, emissions and air quality monitoring. Our team manages waste characterisation, tracks disposal routes, and maintains auditable records to support duty of care. We produce verification reports, site closure documentation and provide proactive regulatory liaison and permit compliance management to reduce risk and improve project certainty. Where projects require additional assurance, we can also support independent verification to demonstrate that remediation objectives have been met and that the site is suitable for its intended use.
