UK Remediation donates £1,500 to support brain tumour charities following the story of a family from North Devon about a double brain tumour diagnosis. When one of our clients mentioned they were taking part in a 700-mile charity bike ride aiming to raise awareness of brain cancer and the story behind the cause we were so moved that we had to help. 16-year old Chloe from North Devon discovered a strange lump at the back of her head only few weeks after her friend in France had been diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour.
Currently only 1 % of the national funding on cancer research is allocated to brain tumour, despite the fact that this disease claims the lives of more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. UK Remediation Director Richard Dalton commented: “Tour to Lyon is a very worthy cause and we are proud to support brain tumour research this way. To see how much time and training the Tour to Lyon team are investing in this is very inspiring, even more so as none of the team members are professional cyclists. I wish them all the best”.
